The B-cell antigen receptor of the five immunoglobulin classes

Nature, 1991
Several proteins associate with surface IgM to form the antigen receptor. We show that just two, the alpha and beta associated chains, are sufficient to reconstitute an IgM surface receptor in fibroblasts. Contrary to expectation, a common alpha chain associates with all five immunoglobulin classes. We propose that B-cell antigen receptors consist of a

Molecular mechanisms in B cell antigen receptor signaling

Current Opinion in Immunology, 1997
Recent gene-targeting experiments have highlighted the importance of the intracellular protein tyrosine kinases Lyn, Syk, and Btk in BCR signal transduction and B cell development. In addition, the interactions of these kinases and their regulatory mechanisms have been reported.

Signal transduction from the B cell antigen-receptor

Current Opinion in Immunology, 1999
Ligation of the B cell antigen-receptor triggers an intricate maze of intercalated biochemical events that ultimately affect B cell biological responses. Recent advances have helped to connect many loose ends by identifying key adaptor proteins, such as BLNK/SLP-65, defining crucial roles for phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase and mapping pathways ...

GENETIC ANALYSIS OF B CELL ANTIGEN RECEPTOR SIGNALING

Annual Review of Immunology, 1999
▪ Abstract  In B lymphocytes, a signaling complex that contributes to cell fate decisions is the B cell antigen receptor (BCR). Data from knockout experiments in cell lines and mice have revealed distinct functions for the intracellular protein tyrosine kinases (Lyn, Syk, Btk) in BCR signaling and B cell development.
