IgE receptors

Current Opinion in Immunology, 2001
IgE receptors are implicated as important components of the immunological pathway in allergic and inflammatory diseases. Recent investigations have begun to unravel the structure, signal transduction and function of IgE receptors from different cell types in rodent and human systems.

Receptors for IgE

Current Opinion in Immunology, 1993
Following advances during the past 5 years in our understanding of the molecular structure of receptors for IgE, progress has been made in elucidating the structure and function of IgE receptors and the signalling events through these receptors. IgE is not the only ligand for some of these receptors, leading to their having unexpected and interesting ...

Decoding IgE Fc receptors

Immunologic Research, 2007
Immunoglobulin E (IgE) plays a central role in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases by interacting with two membrane receptors: high-affinity FcepsilonRI and low-affinity FcepsilonRII (CD23). Allergeninduced IgE-occupied FcepsilonRI aggregation on the mast cell or basophil cell surface leads to the activation of intracellular signaling events and ...

Eosinophil IgE receptor and CD23

Immunologic Research, 1992
In the present review, eosinophil Fc epsilon RII was compared to CD23, a differentiation marker of B cells. Biochemical analysis revealed that molecules of similar molecular weight were immunoprecipitated from eosinophils and B cells by an anti-CD23 monoclonal antibody (mAb) or by BB10, and anti-eosinophil Fc epsilon RII.

The IgE Receptor

1981
The concept of receptors is derived from the analysis of biologically active substances. Its historical roots can be traced to pioneer pharmacologists such as J.N. Langley who worked with curare, to H.H. Dale who studied ergot alcaloids, and to Paul Ehrlich who investigated chemotherapeutic agents in the early 1900 s.
