Suppressible and nonsuppressible autocrine mast cell tumors are distinguished by insertion of an endogenous retroviral element (IAP) into the interleukin 3 gene [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
After v-H-ras expression, the interleukin 3 (IL-3)-dependent PB-3c mast cells progress in vivo to two different classes of IL-3 autocrine tumors. Class I tumors show a germline configuration of the IL-3 gene and represent more than 90% of tumors analyzed

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Post-transcriptional effects of interleukin-3, interferon-gamma, erythropoietin and butyrate on in vitro hemoglobin chain synthesis in congenital hemolytic anemia

open access: yesHaematologica, 2001
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Various agents modulate hemoglobin synthesis. In vitro modulation of translation in hemoglobin chain synthesis was analysed in patients with congenital hemolytic anemia (n=32) and healthy controls (n=17).

Polyene macrolide antifungal drugs trigger interleukin-1β secretion by activating the NLRP3 inflammasome. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The use of antimycotic drugs in fungal infections is based on the concept that they suppress fungal growth by a direct killing effect. However, amphotericin and nystatin have been reported to also trigger interleukin-1β (IL-1β) secretion in monocytes but

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Granulocyte and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factors, their receptors and interleukin-3 levels in newborns

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 1997
Serum levels of granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and interleukin-3 (IL-3) as well as neutrophil counts were studied on the first, second and fifth days after birth, in order ...

The Anti-Inflammatory and Pain-Relieving Effects of AR170, an Adenosine A3 Receptor Agonist, in a Rat Model of Colitis

open access: yesCells, 2020
The pharmacological activation of A3 receptors has shown potential usefulness in the management of bowel inflammation. However, the role of these receptors in the control of visceral hypersensitivity in the presence of intestinal inflammation has not ...

Structure of the IL-27 quaternary receptor signaling complex

open access: yeseLife, 2022
Interleukin 27 (IL-27) is a heterodimeric cytokine that functions to constrain T cell-mediated inflammation and plays an important role in immune homeostasis.

Binding of src-like Kinases to the β-Subunit of the Interleukin-3 Receptor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1997
We have previously shown that stimulation of 32D cl3 cells with interleukin (IL)-3 results in the activation of three src-like tyrosine kinases, fyn, hck, and lyn. The beta subunit of the IL-3 receptor co-immunoprecipitated with hck in lysates of both unstimulated and IL-3-stimulated cells; however, the beta subunit did not precipitate with either fyn ...

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)
