Characteristics, management, and outcomes of patients with VIPoma–A retrospective analysis of the ENETS database

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Introduction: VIPoma is an extremely rare functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Therefore, data regarding treatment and outcome are very limited. Aim (s): This multicenter study aimed to analyze clinical characteristics, real‐world management, and outcomes of patients with VIPoma.

Beyond Hemostasis: Platelet Biomarkers and Vascular‐Immune Crosstalk in Dengue

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 12, 30 June 2026.
Several biomarkers are associated with platelet activation during dengue virus (DENV) infection. These include serum markers (AST, ALT, ferritin), platelet surface or secreted molecules (P‐selectin, PF4, RANTES, VEGF‐A, CD40L, TREM‐1, TLT‐1), immune and endothelial markers (TREM‐1, Ang‐1, Ang‐2), and viral components such as DENV EIII.

Osteotropic effects by the neuropeptides calcitonin gene-related peptide, substance P and vasoactive intestinal peptide

open access: yes, 2008
Immunohistochemical phenotypic characterization of skeletal nerve fibers has demonstrated the expression of a restricted number of neuropeptides, including calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), substance P (SP) and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP ...

Microbial Metabolite‐Stimulated Bitter Taste Receptor T2R14 Signaling Is Modulated by CFTR Interactions

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Bitter taste receptors (T2Rs) play an important role in physiological and cellular responses. Bitter tasting chemicals and microbial metabolites can bind to T2R14, which enables interactions between T2R14 and specific intracellular domains of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) anion channel.

Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) inhibits human renal cell carcinoma proliferation

open access: yes, 2012
Clear renal cell carcinoma (cRCC) is an aggressive and fatal neoplasm. The present work was undertaken to investigate the antiproliferative potential of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) exposure on non-tumoral (HK2) and tumoral (A498, cRCC) human ...

Carbachol-induced down-regulation of high-affinity receptors for vasoactive intestinal peptide

open access: yes, 1989
When dispersed acini from guinea pig pancreas are first incubated with carbachol, the subsequent binding of 125I-vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is inhibited during a second incubation.

Cholecystokinin downregulates receptors for vasoactive intestinal peptide and secretin in rat pancreatic acini

open access: yes, 1990
We examined the effect of cholecystokinin (CCK) on the receptors for vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and secretin in rat pancreatic acini. CCK decreased the specific binding of 125I-VIP and 125I-secretin by 42 and 51%, respectively. This CCK-induced

Pituitary adenylate cyclase‐activating polypeptide targeted treatments in primary headache disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology
Objective Migraine is a complex and disabling neurological disorder. Recent years have witnessed the development and emergence of novel treatments for the condition, namely those targeting calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP).
