This study investigated how causal beliefs about gout influence the public's views about its management. Detection of volatile organic compounds is performed via a coupled enzymatic assay with mobile phone detection of the signal. Specific application demonstrated herein is the detection of influenza virus, across multiple levels of biological complexity, up to patient‐derived samples.
