A New Lower Bound for the Distinct Distance Constant

open access: yes, 2015
The reciprocal sum of Zhang sequence is not equal to the Distinct Distance Constant. This note introduces a $B_2$-sequence with larger reciprocal sum, and provides a more precise estimation of the reciprocal sums of Mian-Chowla sequence and Zhang ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Characterization of WAC interactions with R2TP and TTT chaperone complexes linking glucose and glutamine availability to mTORC1 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TTT and R2TP chaperone complexes are required for the assembly and activation of mTORC1. WAC directly interacts with components of TTT, R2TP, and mTORC1, and these interactions are affected by the availability of glucose and glutamine, correlating with changes in mTORC1 activity.

Inter-organisational learning in project based organisations: Perspectives on reciprocity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This developmental paper discusses early research findings on the role that reciprocity plays in fostering or hindering inter-organisational learning in networks.

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...

Reciprocal classes of random walks on graphs

open access: yes, 2016
The reciprocal class of a Markov path measure is the set of all mixtures of its bridges. We give characterizations of the reciprocal class of a continuous-time Markov random walk on a graph.

Molecular determinants of signal transduction in tropomyosin receptor kinases

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tropomyosin receptor kinases control critical neuronal functions, but how do the same receptors produce diverse cellular responses? This review explores the structural mechanisms behind Trk signaling diversity, focusing on allosteric modulation and ligand bias.
