Scale-up of oscillatory flow mixing

open access: yes, 2011
Oscillatory Flow Mixing is a recent development in mixing technology which has evolved over the past decade. It has a number of similarities to other mixing technologies, particularly pulsed and reciprocating plate columns, but at the laboratory scale ...

Development and Seismic Performance Analysis of a Brace‐Damper System in Steel Frame Structures

open access: yesStructural Control and Health Monitoring, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Scissor‐jack brace‐damper systems (SJBS) are widely utilized in structural applications. However, their performance is constrained by the fixed mode, and solutions based on small deformation cannot accurately capture their mechanical properties. To address this, a hybrid system combining the lever arm system (LAS) and SJBS is proposed.

Bioinspired Cellulose‐Based Ultra‐Slippery Film with Superior Transmittance, Anti‐Fouling and De‐Icing Properties for the Durable and Efficient Output of Solar Panels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 48, December 29, 2025.
Accumulations of ice, dust, bird droppings, and algae pose a significant risk of reducing the energy‐conversion efficiency of solar panels. Here, an articular cartilage‐inspired cellulose‐based ultra‐slippery film with highly comprehensive performances is reported.

Prediction of mixture toxicity of essential oil constituents using nonparametric and parametric models against Musca domestica L.

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 12, Page 8595-8606, December 2025.
This study evaluated the predictive performance of mixture toxicity models for binary blends of essential oil constituents against Musca domestica. Parametric models (BRAID, Zimmer, MuSyC) outperformed conventional null models by accounting for synergistic or antagonistic interactions, highlighting the need for model selection based on interaction ...

Effectiveness of the iVac System Compared to Conventional Irrigation and Ultrasonic Activation in Reducing Microbial Biofilm, Lipopolysaccharides and Apical Extrusion

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 598-608, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This in vitro study evaluated the effectiveness of irrigation techniques (IT)—conventional irrigation (CI), ultrasonic activation (UA), and iVac system (IA)‐ using 2.5% NaOCl and saline in reducing Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans in root canals and intratubular dentine.

Tunable BIC metamaterials with Dirac semimetals

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 14, Issue 27, Page 4875-4925, December 2025.
Abstract Proposed by von Neuman and Wigner in 1929, bound states in the continuum (BIC) exhibit the merits of ultrahigh Q–factor and strongly confined modes, solving the inherent high dissipation of metamaterials (MMs) and plasmonic devices. Dirac semimetal (DSM) possesses the advantages of high carrier mobility and outstanding tunable properties ...
