FGF13 is upregulated in DRG neurons of PIPNP model mice. DRG neuron‐specific knockout of FGF13 ameliorates PIPNP symptoms. Mechanistically, FGF13 potentiates microtubule detyrosination by promoting VASH1 binding to microtubules. FGF13 knockout suppresses VASH1‐mediated microtubule detyrosination and promotes α‐tubulin tyrosination.

HNRNPD promotes radioresistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma by enhancing stress granule assembly and sequestering GRAMD4 mRNA. This suppresses GRAMD4 translation and inhibits mitochondrial apoptosis. Targeting the integrated stress response with ISRIB restores GRAMD4 expression and sensitizes tumors to radiotherapy, revealing a translational control ...

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Recombinant protein expression in Escherichia coli.
Current Opinion in Biotechnology, 1999Escherichia coli is one of the most widely used hosts for the production of heterologous proteins and its genetics are far better characterized than those of any other microorganism. Recent progress in the fundamental understanding of transcription, translation, and protein folding in E.

Recombinant protein expression: Challenges in production and folding related matters.
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2023Protein folding is a biophysical process by which proteins reach a specific three-dimensional structure. The amino acid sequence of a polypeptide chain contains all the information needed to determine the final three-dimensional structure of a protein ...

Expression and Purification of Recombinant ADAMTS8
2023ADAMTS8 (A Disintegrin-like and Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin motifs 8) is a secreted zinc-dependent metalloproteinase whose expression is downregulated in a variety of solid tumors. Xenografts expressing high levels of ADAMTS8 have a poor capacity to invade and migrate in nude mice.

Recombinant Expression in Moderate Halophiles
Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, 2010A novel expression of recombinant proteins was developed using moderate halophiles that accumulate osmolytes and hence provide cytoplasmic environments where osmolyte-driven folding can take place. Promoters and selection marker were developed for high expression of foreign proteins. Examples are given for expression of bacterial nucleoside diphosphate

Recombinational Switch for Gene Expression
Science, 1977Flagellar antigens are specified by two genes, H1 and H2. The expression of these genes is regulated such that only one gene activity, or phase, is expressed at a given time. Molecular cloning techniques were used to isolate the segments of Salmonella DNA which contain these genetic loci.
