A New Dual Fluorescence Method for Rapid Detection of Infectious Bronchitis Virus at Constant Temperature

open access: yesMicroorganisms
Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) causes infectious bronchitis in chicken, an acute, highly contagious respiratory infection. Because of genetic mutations and recombination, IBV forms many subtypes, which makes it difficult to treat the disease and apply

Myelin Maintenance and Addition Regulate Synaptic Plasticity in the Adult Mouse Cortex

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 12, December 2026.
We report that existing myelin allows neurons to remain plastic throughout life, while new myelin progressively stabilises synapses along the basal but not apical dendrites of layer V pyramidal neurons in the motor cortex. ABSTRACT Myelin has the capacity to affect synapse number or plasticity across the lifespan.

Adolescent Ethanol Exposure Disrupts the Mature Phenotype of Surviving Neuroprogenitors in Female Mice

open access: yesHippocampus, Volume 36, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Rodent models of human adolescent binge drinking persistently reduce adult neurogenesis and induce innate immune signaling cascades, suggesting long‐lasting dysfunction in the hippocampal neurogenic niche. Nevertheless, many neuroprogenitors survive, and the impact of adolescent ethanol on the mature phenotype of these surviving neurons is ...

Paratuberculosis in small ruminants in the Sudan: prevalence and risk factors

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research
Background Paratuberculosis (PTB), caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP), is a contagious and chronic enteric disease of ruminants and many non-ruminants leading to emaciation and death of the animal.

A YAP–TEAD–CTCF Transcriptional Regulatory Axis Associated With the Elimination of Injured Hepatocytes From the Liver

open access: yesGenes to Cells, Volume 31, Issue 6, November 2026.
Injured YAP‐activated hepatocytes are eliminated from the liver. They are extruded toward the sinusoidal lumen, undergo cell death, and are phagocytosed by macrophages. Here, we performed proximity ligation assay, ATAC‐seq, RNA‐seq, and CellChat analyses.

Allele‐Specific GNAQ Q209 Mutations Reveal Context‐Dependent Oncogenic Programs in Uveal Melanoma

open access: yesPigment Cell &Melanoma Research, Volume 39, Issue 6, November 2026.
Using matched immune‐competent, multistep uveal melanoma models, we show that GNAQ Q209L and Q209R mutations are not functionally equivalent. Q209L drives faster in vivo progression but reduces in vitro proliferation and migration, whereas Q209R promotes greater in vitro fitness and preferential FAK‐YAP activation, revealing an allele‐dependent ...

Ten‐Eleven Translocation Enzymes Control the Rate and Mode of Retinal Progenitor Cell Division in the Developing Retina

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
Early RPCs divide predominantly symmetrically and exhibit a high proliferation rate, resulting in rapid retinal growth. Late RPCs divide predominantly asymmetrically and exhibit a low proliferation rate. Our results suggest that TET‐deficient RPCs divide predominantly asymmetrically but exhibit a high proliferation rate.

Advances in CRISPR‐based detection technologies for severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (Dabiebanda virus): A mini review

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 5, October 2026.
This review summarises the detection methods for severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus based on CRISPR platforms. (A) CRISPR with fluorescent reporter. (B) CRISPR with lateral flow test strip. (C) CRISPR with DNAzyme. (D) Digital CRISPR. (E) CRISPR with single micro‐ring resonator biosensor. (F) self‐amplifying signal amplification strategy

Müller Glia–Vasculature Interactions in the Developing Retina

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 10, October 2026.
Retinal vascular layers form normally despite loss of cholinergic retinal waves. Müller glial processes contact endothelial tip cells early and form Aquaporin‐4‐enriched endfeet. Glial endfoot calcium signals are compartmentalized and occur largely independently of neural activity. ABSTRACT Coordinated signaling among neurons, glia, and the vasculature

CX3CR1 Modulates Migration of Resident Microglia Towards Cortical Laser‐Induced Lesions

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 10, October 2026.
CX3CR1 deficiency promotes microglial migration toward CNS injury. Proteomic profiling reveals altered RHO‐mediated cytoskeletal signaling, while in vivo two‐photon imaging demonstrates increased process extension, velocity, and accumulation of Cx3cr1‐deficient microglia at lesion sites. ABSTRACT Microglia are innate immune cells of the central nervous
