Optoelectronic Devices for In‐Sensor Computing
The raw data obtained directly from sensors in the noisy analogue domain is often unstructured, which lacks a predefined format or organization and does not conform to a specific data model. Optoelectronic devices for in‐sensor visual processing can integrate perception, memory, and processing functions in the same physical units, which can compress ...

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface: MIMO or Radiating Sheet?
A Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) redirects and possibly modifies the properties of incident waves, with the aim to restore non-line-of-sight communication links. Composed of elementary scatterers, the RIS has been so far treated as a collection of point scatterers with properties similar to antennas in an equivalent massive MIMO communication

Performance of Wireless Optical Communication With Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces and Random Obstacles [PDF]
It is difficult for free space optical communication to be applied in mobile communication due to the obstruction of obstacles in the environment, which is expected to be solved by reconfigurable intelligent surface technology. The reconfigurable intelligent surface is a new type of digital coding meta-materials, which can reflect, compute and program ...

Design and validation of scalable reconfigurable intelligent surfaces
In this paper, we share our experience in designing, prototyping, and empirically characterizing RF Switch-based Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS). Our RIS design consists of arrays of patch antennas, delay lines, and programmable radio-frequency (RF) switches, enabling 3D beamforming passively, without active RF components.
