Securing reconfigurable terminals - mechanisms and protocols

The 13th IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2003
Software reconfigurability of air interfaces, the actual reconfiguration processes and the procurement of reconfiguration software are posing substantial threats to the system integrity of wireless communication system. These threats are investigated and reported, and mechanisms to ensure secure reconfiguration procedures are described.

Classification of Reconfigurable Parallel Mechanisms

Russian Engineering Research, 2020
The theoretically possible reconfigurable parallel mechanisms are classified, in terms of the layout of guides on the base. Formulas are derived for the characteristic parameters of each type. On that basis, individual calculation templates are developed for formalized design of reconfigurable parallel mechanisms.

Mechanical actuation of reconfigurable optical fibres

2014 16th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2014
We have recently demonstrated a novel type of microstructured nanomechanical optical fibres with optical properties that can be continuously tuned by mechanical actuation, similar to chip-based MEMS optical couplers. We review different options for actuation, such as gas pressure, temperature, and electrostatic forces, and discuss progress in the ...

Mechanical design of a module for reconfigurable robots

Proceedings. 2000 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2000) (Cat. No.00CH37113), 2002
The goal of the Conro project is to build deployable self-reconfigurable robots, i.e., small homogeneous modular robots that can be reconfigured into different shapes such as snakes or hexapods. In this paper we describe the mechanical design of the first generation of Conro modules: the philosophy of their design, their parts and functionality and ...

Mechanisms of Reconfigurable Antenna: A Review

2020 10th International Conference on Cloud Computing, Data Science & Engineering (Confluence), 2020
In today’s evolutionary world of wireless technology, reconfigurable antenna plays a very important role. Wireless technologies such as mobile communication, military, cognitive radio, radar, satellite communication are needed to be dynamic in their functions to improve the performance in changing scenario.

Reconfigurable Microkernel-based RTOS: Mechanisms and Methods for Run-Time Reconfiguration

2006 IEEE International Conference on Reconfigurable Computing and FPGA's (ReConFig 2006), 2006
The requirements of high computational performance and flexibility of the contemporary embedded systems are continuously increasing. Moreover, a single architecture must be able to support different applications with dynamical requirements (changing environments).

Mechanism State Matrices for Planar Reconfigurable Mechanisms

Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics, 2011
This paper introduces mechanism state matrices as a novel way to represent the topological characteristics of planar reconfigurable mechanisms. As part of this new approach, these matrices will be used as an analysis tool to automatically determine the degrees of freedom (DOFs) of planar mechanisms that only contain one DOF joint. The DOF at each state

Optimization of Reconfiguration Mechanisms in Critical Infrastructures

2015
Recently, the protection of critical infrastructures became a core problem due to their importance in the everyday life and the attacks that may affect these systems. In order to ensure the safety and the efficient operation of such systems, a method together with an integrated framework is proposed to find a solution to the problem to deliver a system

A mechanically pattern reconfigurable array

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2019
AbstractA design of pattern reconfigurable arrays realized with mechanical mechanism is presented. The radiating element of the array is a printed dipole backed with a metallic box, and it has a broad impedance bandwidth as well as a high front‐to‐back ratio. Four of the elements are connected together by using a mounting fixture with rotatable joints.

Reconfigurable Generalized Parallel Mechanisms with Kinematotropic Linkages

2021 7th International Conference on Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering (ICMRE), 2021
This paper presents a novel idea of designing reconfigurable generalized parallel mechanisms (GPMs) by integrating kinematotropic linkages with coupling sub-chains (CSs) or configurable platforms (CPs). This leads to two brand-new ways of constructing reconfigurable mechanisms.
