Therapy of recurrent pericarditis

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2004
We read with interest the paper by Raatikka et al. [(1)][1]that gives us a useful piece of information regarding pericarditis in children. The data are relevant, particularly regarding the good long-term outcome, with no instance of constriction, in agreement with our experience in adults.

INtraVESical immunoTherapy (INVEST) prior to radical cystectomy for bladder cancer: trial protocol

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue 4, Page 607-619, October 2026.
Background High‐risk non‐muscle‐invasive bladder cancer (HRNMIBC) has a variable prognosis, managed predominantly by local surgical resection and intravesical Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG), or radical cystectomy (RC). Current treatments are poorly tolerated, have supply limitations and often fail to control the disease.

Acute anaphylactic and multiorgan inflammatory effects of Comirnaty in pigs: evidence of spike protein mRNA transfection and paralleling inflammatory cytokine upregulation

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 20, Page 6225-6239, October 2026.
Abstract Background and Purpose Rare but severe adverse events (AEs) associated with mRNA‐lipid nanoparticle (LNP) COVID‐19 vaccines, such as Comirnaty, include anaphylaxis and inflammatory organ disorders, but their underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. We aimed to develop an animal model to study these phenomena.

A Multifaceted Interplay Among Hemophagocytosis, Interleukin‐18, and Type I Interferon Distinguishes Still Disease From Other Autoinflammatory Diseases

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 9, Page 1961-1974, September 2026.
Objective The unknown pathophysiology and the lack of specific features for systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis and adult‐onset Still disease (collectively known as Still disease; SD) delay diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The goal of this study was to identify features and mechanisms that distinguish SD from other systemic autoinflammatory ...
