We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Environmental coupling of selection and heritability limits evolution
There has recently been great interest in applying theoretical quantitative genetic models to empirical studies of evolution in wild populations. However, while classical models assume environmental constancy, most natural populations exist in variable ...

Recurrent mass selection for upright plant architecture in common bean [PDF]
Plant with a more upright architecture offers many advantages to farmers. Recurrent mass selection (RS) programs for carioca type common bean have been implemented for the purpose of obtaining new lines that will generate the high yields that are ...

Recurrent Selection for Yield in Soybeans
Procedures have been developed for yield testing of soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) that permit S1 testing with 1 year per cycle and S4 testing with 2 years per cycle. The principal factors in the program include efficient procedures for obtaining crossed seed by hand pollination, crossing and generation advance in Puerto Rico, and yield tests in ...

Selection of indicators for tonsillectomy in adults with recurrent tonsillitis [PDF]
AbstractBackgroundWe aimed to find some new indicators for tonsillectomy (TE) in adults with recurrent tonsillitis (RT) by exploring whether the frequency of tonsillitis episodes and the length of morbidity period are associated with the macroscopic signs of sclerotic process in tonsils and microbiological data assessed by culture, molecular (PCR) and ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
