The stages of сalcareous Algae development in the Urals during Devonian

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2015
The article highlights the following stages of the development microscopic Devonian Algae in the Urals: the rise of Algae in the early Devonian (Karpinski time), degradation of Algae flora during the end of Early Devonian (taltiysk time), the Middle ...

The freshwater red algae ( Batrachospermales , Rhodophyta ) of Africa and Madagascar I. New species of Kumanoa , Sirodotia and the new genus Ahidranoa ( Batrachospermaceae )

open access: yesPlant and Fungal Systematics, 2020
Our knowledge of the diversity of African freshwater red algae is rather limited. Only a few reports exist. During our field work in the last five years we frequently encountered freshwater red algae in streams in Rwanda and Madagascar.

日本産海藻の赤血球に対する溶血作用と保護作用 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Hemolytic and protective activities of crude extracts from 9 seaweed (2 green algae, 2 brown algae and 6 red algae) to sheep red blood cell were evaluated by the absorbance at 541nm and 576 nm on the spectrophotometric analysis. All the seaweed which ...

High CO2 decreases the long-term resilience of the free-living coralline algae Phymatolithon lusitanicum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Maerl/rhodolith beds are protected habitats that may be affected by ocean acidification (OA), but it is still unclear how the availability of CO2 will affect the metabolism of these organisms.

Corals and Reef‐Dwelling Fish Regulate Carbon Storage and Cycling Processes in Coral Reef Ecosystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coral reefs are biodiversity hotspots, yet their role in carbon storage and cycling remains poorly understood. Using field surveys and modeling in the South China Sea, we reveal the overlooked potential of carbon storage in reef ecosystems and how reef fish, corals, and surface sediment jointly shape reef carbon reservoirs.

Effect of partial substitution of fishmeal by red algae Gracilaria pygmaea on the growth performance, hematology and serum biochemistry parameters of Asian Seabass Lates calcarifer (Bloch, 1790)

open access: yes‬‭Majallah-i ̒Ilmī-i Shīlāt-i Īrān, 2017
Effects of dietary supplementation of red macroalgae Gracilaria pygmea on the growth performance, hematology and serum biochemistry parameters of Asian Seabass Lates calcarifer with initial fish weight of 28±5.9 g were investigated in a 6-week experiment.

Characteristics of Red Algae Bioplastics/Latex Blends under Tension

open access: yesInternational Journal of Science and Engineering, 2013
Cassava, corn, sago and the other food crops have been commonly used as raw materials to produce green plastics. However, plastics produced from such crops cannot be tailored to fit a particular requirement due to their poor water resistance and ...

Surface‐Bound Superoxide Radical‐Mediated Photo‐Fenton Mineralization of Ciprofloxacin on Fe‐Sillenite Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study systematically compares the degradation efficiency of CIP in a H2O2‐alone system and a novel Bi12FeO20‐H2O2 photo‐Fenton system. It reveals for the first time the presence of a quinone‐imine intermediate in the H2O2‐alone system, which exhibits toxicity comparable to CIP.
