Oxygen Evolution Electrocatalysts with Trinuclear, Mixed‐Valence Iron Motifs on Electronically Aligned Carbon Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trinuclear iron oxo‐bridged catalytic ensembles stabilized by aspartic‐acid‐derived carbon dots provide an effective platform for alkaline oxygen evolution. Mixed‐valence charge balancing, inner‐sphere charge transport, and work‐function alignment within the N/O‐rich carbon framework promote cooperative Fe‐site chemistry and efficient OER ...

Impact of Oxygen Availability on the Organelle‐Specific Redox Potentials and Stress in Recombinant Protein Producing Komagataella phaffii

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology
The yeast Komagataella phaffii (syn. Pichia pastoris) is a highly effective and well‐established host for the production of recombinant proteins. The redox balance of its secretory pathway, which is multi‐organelle dependent, is of high importance for ...

Nanoamphizymes: Self‐Assembled Amphiphilic Enzymatic Nanomaterials for High‐Performance Biocatalysis and Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An amphiphilic GOx nanoamphizyme was constructed by covalently introducing hydrophobic PPNI linkers onto GOx, enabling spontaneous self‐assembly into tunable nanoparticles. Mild crosslinking further stabilized the assemblies and enhanced catalytic performance and stability.

Neuromorphic Devices for Extreme Environments: State‐Variable Reliability and Stabilization Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Neuromorphic devices for extreme environments are interpreted through the physical states that store and process information. Radiation, temperature extremes, and vacuum can perturb vacancies, filaments, trapped charges, polarization, interfaces, and readout signals.

Perennial redox potential dynamics in Alaskan degraded and non-degraded permafrost soils

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
The redox status of permafrost soils is a decisive factor for their nutrient cycling, organic matter decomposition, and greenhouse gas emissions. Although being associated with a variety of processes, data availability of continuous redox measurements in

APTES‐Mediated Ti‐Squarate MOF/n‐GaN Nanowire Photoanodes for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The APTES linker establishes a permanent interfacial dipole, reducing the work function of n‐GaN from 3.55 to 3.29 eV. This strengthens the built‐in electric field, significantly accelerating hole extraction to drive the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Ultimately, this tailored charge‐separation architecture achieves a remarkable 4.78‐fold enhancement

High-resolution reconstruction of redox changes using XRF core scanner: depth-transect redox changes in the Japan Sea during the Quaternary

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science
The reconstruction of past marine bottom-water redox conditions are crucial because it reflects changes in ocean circulation, surface productivity, and the precipitation–evaporation balance.
