Reduced-Order Model for Catalytic Cracking of Bio-Oil

open access: yesFluids
This work presents a one-dimensional (1D) model for simulating the behavior of an FCC riser reactor processing bio-oil. The FCC riser is modeled as a plug-flow reactor, where the bio-oil feed undergoes vaporization followed by catalytic cracking ...

Reduced Order Model of Position Control System

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, simple approach is proposed to determine reduced order model of a unstable open-loop position control system. This approach is based on Krishnamurthy’s approach on Routh criterion on reduced order modelling.

Reduced-order robust tilt control design for high-speed railway vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper presents a study of model reduction techniques, as well as controller reduction via closed-loop considerations in designing robust tilt controllers to improve the curving performance of high-speed railway vehicles.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

A Reduced Order Model of the Thermal Profile of the Rolls for the Real-Time Control System

open access: yesEnergies
Effective real-time control systems require fast and accurate models. The thermal profile models of the rolls presented in this paper are proposed for a real-time control system for the design of the rolling schedule.

Reduced-Order Dispatch Model for Simulating Marginal Emissions Factors for the United States Power Sector

open access: yes, 2019
This study develops a reduced-order power plant dispatch model and uses it to simulate marginal emissions factors (MEFs) for the 2014–2017 United States (U.S.) electric grid at the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) regional level ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
