Hilbert schemes and Rees algebras [Elektronisk resurs]
The topic of this thesis is algebraic geometry, which is the mathematical subject that connects polynomial equations with geometric objects. Modern algebraic geometry has extended this framework by replacing polynomials with elements from a general ...

ABSTRACT Over the past few decades, the intensification of global warming has brought increased attention to urban thermal dynamics, particularly regarding Land Surface Temperature (LST) and the Urban Surface Heat Island (SUHI) effect. This study conducts a systematic literature review alongside a bibliometric analysis of 123 peer‐reviewed articles ...

From Ambition to Authenticity: How Transparent Sustainability Practices Rebuild Stakeholder Trust
ABSTRACT Stakeholder trust is central to advancing sustainable development, yet it is increasingly strained as corporate sustainability commitments expand faster than verifiable performance. This study examines how authenticity and transparency in corporate sustainability practices influence the formation and maintenance of stakeholder trust under ...

Rees algebras of square-free Veronese ideals and their a-invariants
We determine the facets of the polyhedral cone associated to the Rees algebra of the ideal generated by the square-free monomials of a fixed degree in a polynomial ring.

ABSTRACT Isolating environmental issues from their broader social and political context limits understanding of their true drivers. In this sense, factors such as governance and education can be powerful determinants of environmental performance. This research examines the factors influencing the Environmental Health component of the Environmental ...

Water, Sanitation and Health: The World Bank's Financing of Sustainable Development Goal 6
ABSTRACT The World Bank has an explicit commitment to financing projects aimed at ensuring access to drinking water and sanitation (SDG 6), given their implications for countries' development. The objective of this study is to analyse its performance over the past decades, in order to understand the evolution of the allocated amount and the ...

On form ideals and Artin-Rees conditions
We look for conditions which make two ideals and in a noetherian ring A have the same form ideal in an associated graded ring GA(a^r). More precisely, when and and fi–f'i lies in a^r m m>t0, forall i , we give a necessary and sufficient condition to have,

Acid Resistant and Highly Silver Selective Membranes Based on Charged Nanoporous 2D‐Materials
In this work, new membranes based on charged & nanoporous nanosheets with unprecedented selectivity to silver versus a wide range of other metallic ions are reported. Furthermore, a demonstrated and lead specific intralamellar lead pathway is demonstrated. A potential applicability for ubiquitous silver in WEEE is validated.

On the Gorenstein Property of the Associated Graded Ring and the Rees Algebra of an Ideal

Rees algebras and fiber cones of modules
In the first part of this thesis, we study Rees algebras of modules. We investigate their Cohen-Macaulay property and their defining ideal, using generic Bourbaki ideals.
