Cellular reflectarray antenna and method of making same [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A method of manufacturing a cellular reflectarray antenna arranged in an m by n matrix of radiating elements for communication with a satellite includes steps of determining a delay .phi.m,n for each of said m by n matrix of elements of said cellular ...

A high gain and high radiation efficiency optical transparent Fabry–Perot cavity antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 60, Issue 8, April 2024.
A novel high gain, high efficiency optically transparent Fabry–Perot Cavity antenna operating in millimetre‐wave is proposed. The antenna employs dual layers of transparent reflective surfaces and a transparent electromagnetic band gap ground to enhance the work band and obtain a high gain radiation.

Broadband Single-Layer Reflectarray Antenna Employing Circular Ring Elements Dented With Sectorial Slits

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A broadband single-layer reflectarray antenna comprising circular ring elements dented with sectorial slits is presented. The sizes of circular rings are fixed and equal for all elements, while the variation of the reflected phase is obtained by varying ...

All‐dielectric circularly polarised loop antenna made of high‐permittivity ceramic/water

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 18, Issue 4, Page 203-210, April 2024.
A class of all‐dielectric CP loop antenna made of high‐permittivity ceramic/water is proposed to take full advantages of dielectric characteristics. 3‐D printing technology is here utilised to form the all‐in‐one structure of the proposed antenna. This work provides a methodology for the implementation of all‐dielectric CP antennas with all‐in‐one ...

Bandwidth of reflectarrays

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2003
It is shown that the dominant factor controlling reflectarray bandwidth is the bandwidth of the radiating element, and that the effect of non-constant path delays over the surface of the flat reflector has little significance unless the aperture is electrically very large and the f/D ratio is small. An example of a polarisation-twist reflectarray using

X-band reflectarray antenna with arbitrarily (elliptical) polarization for high-power microwave applications

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2020
An X-band high-power microwave antenna with arbitrarily (elliptical) polarization is proposed and investigated in this paper. The proposed antenna is founded on a reflectarray composed of printed elements and excited by the microwave energy in the ...

Design, manufacture and measurement of a low-cost reflectarray for global earth coverage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this work a low-cost reflectarray with isoflux pattern for global Earth coverage is designed, manufactured and measured at 30GHz. The isoflux template is mathematically derived for a generic satellite and then particularized for a geostationary orbit.

Three‐dimensional metal‐only phoenix cell and its application for reflectarrays

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 18, Issue 4, Page 211-219, April 2024.
A 3D metal‐only waveguide‐based phoenix cell for reflectarray, offering two operation modes for reflection phase manipulation is presented. A metal‐only reflectarray antenna at 20 GHz is designed and fabricated using selective laser melting 3D printing technology, showing good agreement between simulations and measurements.

Reflectarray Antenna for Simultaneous Near-Field Fronthaul and Far-Field Backhaul Links in Next 5G FR2 Femtocells

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
This work presents a reflectarray-based base station antenna to integrate both backhaul (BH) and fronthaul (FH). The reflectarray operates at 28 GHz in dual linear polarization, using one polarization for the BH and another for the FH. The BH is a pencil

81-Element single-layer reflectarray with double-ring phasing elements for wideband applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A microstrip reflectarray antenna utilizes a planar array of printed patch elements and a conventional prime or offset feed to form an alternative to the parabolic reflector [1].
