Indications, results, and complications of refractive corneal surgery with lasers
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1993Large numbers of patients are being treated for myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism using the excimer laser. For many patients who are treated for myopia and hyperopia, the procedure is elective and these treatments remain investigational. The use of other lasers for refractive surgery is at an earlier stage, with human trials commencing for infrared ...

Indications, results, and complications of refractive corneal surgery with lasers
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1995The use of lasers to correct refractive errors has become an established clinical procedure in many countries. Excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) has been performed on an estimated 400,000 to 500,000 eyes worldwide. For myopia up to about 6.0 D, PRK appears to be generally safe, exhibiting acceptable accuracy, predictability, and stability.

[Complication of excimer laser refractive surgery].
Oftalmologia (Bucharest, Romania : 1990), 2007The success of the refractive surgery depends of the absence of the incidents during and after the surgery. Any complication can compromise more or less the result of the intervention and make it inefficient or even injurious.

[Complications of corneal lamellar refractive surgery].
Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 2016Techniques available for corneal lamellar refractive surgery are laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) using a microkeratome or femtosecond laser incision followed by excimer laser corneal ablation, and femtosecond laser-assisted refractive lenticule extraction (ReLEx).

[Complications after refractive lens exchange].
Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 2009This overview discusses specific complications after refractive lens exchange (RLE). The complication spectrum is similar to that following cataract surgery, with some differences: RLE is implemented in very short or very long eyes, and the average patient age is significantly lower.
