Amplified spontaneous emission in a Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier

Applied Optics, 2003
Amplified spontaneous emission power and contrast ratio in a linear miltipass Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier with a wavelength centered at 1054 nm are calculated and measured. It is shown that the passive losses of a seed pulse and the losses in coupling to the regenerative amplifier cavity mode degrade the intensity contrast ratio to 10(-6)-10(-7).

Broadband spectral shaping in a Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier

Optics and Laser Technology, 2003
Abstract A birefringent crystal quartz plate of known thickness has been used as a spectral filter for spectral shaping in a Ti:sapphire regenerative amplifier. The spectral profile of the amplified pulse ejected from the regenerative amplifier was observed while adjusting the birefringent crystal plate in the cavity.

Cr:LiSrAlF_6 regenerative amplifier

Optics Letters, 1992
The design and performance of a flash-lamp-pumped regenerative amplifier that utilizes the new laser material Cr:LiSrAlF(6) is described. The device can be used for tunable and/or short-pulse amplification to the 10-mJ level at a repetition rate of 10 Hz. Using chirped-pulse amplification, we have achieved 8-mJ pulses with a duration of 150 fs.

Kilohertz Cr:forsterite regenerative amplifier

Optics Letters, 1998
We report on a tunable regenerative amplifier that is operational in the near-infrared spectral region from 1230 to 1280 nm based on the vibronic laser material Cr:forsterite. Utilizing the technique of chirped-pulse amplification, we generated pulses as short as 150 fs at 1255 nm at a repetition rate of 1 kHz. Pulse amplification of more than 5 x 10(5)

Yb:GdCOB regenerative amplifier

Technical Digest. Summaries of papers presented at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics. Postconference Technical Digest (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37170), 2001
Summary form only given. In this summary, we present the first Yb:GdCOB regenerative chirped pulse amplification system to produce 12-mJ, and 350-fs pulses. We have extracted reasonable amount of energy from Yb:GdCOB. If we employ a diode-pumping scheme, we could obtain hundreds, of milli-joule pulses with high repetition rate.

An Alexandrite Regenerative Amplifier

Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1987
In order to obtain very stable frequency output or very short pulses from a laser, cw pumping of the laser has been required. The ability to amplify frequency stable output, short pulses, or diode laser pulses to pulse energies available from pulsed solid-state lasers is highly desirable.
