EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

One-point compactifications and continuity for partial frames [PDF]

open access: yesCategories and General Algebraic Structures with Applications, 2017
Locally compact Hausdorff spaces and their one-point compactifications are much used in topology and analysis; in lattice and domain theory, the notion of continuity captures the idea of local compactness.

Well-posedness of a class of two-point boundary value problems associated with ordinary differential equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
This paper introduces the regular decoupling field to study the existence and uniqueness of solutions of two-point boundary value problems for a class of ordinary differential equations which can be derived from the maximum principle in optimal control ...

Regularization techniques in interior point methods

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2012
The author studies the factorization of the augmented system arising in interior point methods and generalizes the regularization techniques developed and used in linear programming to the case when the scaling matrix is positive semidefinite, but not diagonal.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

MFPNet: A Semantic Segmentation Network for Regular Tunnel Point Clouds Based on Multi-Scale Feature Perception

open access: yesSensors
Tunnel point cloud semantic segmentation is a critical step in achieving refined perception and intelligent management of tunnel structures. Addressing common challenges including indistinct boundaries and fine-grained category discrimination, this paper

HIDDEN REGULAR VARIATION FOR POINT PROCESSES AND THE SINGLE/MULTIPLE LARGE POINT HEURISTIC

open access: yes, 2019
We consider regular variation for marked point processes with independent heavy-tailed marks and prove a single large point heuristic: the limit measure is concentrated on the cone of point measures with one single point.

Convex Cone Conditions on the Structure of Designs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Various known and original inequalities concerning the structure of combinatorial designs are established using polyhedral cones generated by incidence matrices. This work begins by giving definitions and elementary facts concerning t-designs.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
