High‐dose Xuming Zhusan (XMZS) improves neurological/cognitive functions and reduces cerebral infarct in MCAO mice. It inhibits microglial activation and pro‐inflammatory cytokines via suppressing the TLR4/MYD88/NF‐κB pathway, protecting neurons. Traditional Chinese herbal formula XuMingZhuSan showed its efficacy in treating stroke. It was capable of attenuating neuronal damage and mitochondrial damage and reducing infarction volume in rats with stroke. Mechanically, XuMingZhuSan might treat stroke by relieving neuronal ferroptosis via activating the NRF2/GPX4/SLC7A11 pathway.
