Effectiveness of Explanatory Reinforcement in Programmed Learning of Psychological Concepts

Apparently reinforcement modifies learning indirectly by determining the activities in which the learning process occurs. As indicated by the responses of 432 Ss enrolled in general psychology, explanatory reinforcement was superior to non-explanatory reinforcement in the learning of concepts.
