Spatially Organized Human Ovarian Spheroids Instruct Endometrial Morphogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A spatially organized human follicle‐like spheroid (SPHEGaT) composed of granulosa cells (GCs) and stromal‐derived theca‐like cells (TLCs) establishes sustained steroidogenesis in vitro. When co‐cultured with human endometrial organoids (EMOs), estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) exchange induces secretory/progesterone‐responsive differentiation ...

Hamaker Constants of van der Waals Materials under Clean‐Interface Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clean‐interface adhesion in representative van der Waals materials is quantified by Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) with in situ cleaning and calibrated probes. Benchmark Hamaker constants for graphene, MoS2, and SiO2 are established, while humidity is shown to reversibly amplify adhesion, explaining much of the scatter in ...

ZBTB11 Promotes Breast Cancer Progression by Activating FBXO28‐Mediated MST1 Degradation and Suppressing Hippo Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZBTB11 is identified as an oncogenic transcription factor that activates FBXO28 in breast cancer. FBXO28 promotes K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation of MST1, suppressing Hippo signaling and enhancing epithelial–mesenchymal transition and metastasis. This transcription‐to‐ubiquitination cascade defines a prognostic biomarker axis and highlights a

The Natural Product Corramycin Acts as a DNA Gyrase Poison and Overcomes Fluoroquinolone Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Corramycin, a myxobacterial natural product antibiotic, exhibits potent bactericidal activity against multidrug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The compound hijacks bacterial transporters such as BacA and OppABCD to enter the cell and inhibits DNA synthesis through a previously unrecognized mode of DNA gyrase poisoning, locking the enzyme in an ...

Green and Low‐Carbon Synthesis of Lithium Sulfide (Li2S): From Fundamental Mechanisms to Scalable Manufacturing for Next‐Generation Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review focuses on green synthesis routes for lithium sulfide (Li2S)—a key material for lithium–sulfur batteries and sulfide solid electrolytes, whose traditional carbothermal reduction remains energy‐intensive and unsustainable. Specifically examined routes include low‐temperature solid‐state reactions, magnesiothermal reduction, and solution ...

Thermal Control of Concentric Topographies Patterned by Dynamic Electro‐Templated Generated Chiral Solitonic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electro‐templating strategy directs the relaxation of cholesteric finger loops into discrete concentric rings whose geometry is electrically programmed. The photopolymerized structures retain the topological defect pattern and, upon heating, show reversible, castle‐like surface modulation.

A Novel Pak1 Activator Ameliorates ER Stress for HFpEF Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic metabolic stress is a major contributor to HFpEF progression. Under prolonged metabolic stress, Pak1 activity becomes impaired, contributing to disrupted ER proteostasis, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, fibrosis, and diastolic dysfunction. Mechanistically, Pak1 overexpression activates the ERK1/2–MNK1–eIF4E signaling axis, promotes translational ...

A single generation in the wild increases fitness for descendants of hatchery‐origin Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha)

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications
Reintroduction is an important tool for the recovery of imperiled species. For threatened Pacific salmonids (Oncorhynchus spp.) species, hatchery‐origin (HOR) individuals from a nearby source are often used to reestablish populations in vacant ...

ATL2 Recruits TRAK1 to Promote Mitochondrial Transport at ER–Mitochondria Contact Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mitochondrial transport and distribution are crucial for cellular homeostasis, yet whether and how they are regulated by endoplasmic reticulum (ER)–mitochondria contact sites remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the ER protein atlastin‐2 (ATL2) orchestrates mitochondrial transport and distribution by promoting assembly of the transport ...

Public support for puma reintroduction in the eastern United States

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice
Pumas (Puma concolor) are among the species identified as having the potential to enhance ecosystem function. Previous research highlights sufficient ecological habitat to support pumas in the eastern United States; however, their reintroduction requires
