Relative entropy in scattering and the S-matrix bootstrap
We consider entanglement measures in 2-2 scattering in quantum field theories, focusing on relative entropy which distinguishes two different density matrices.

ABSTRACT Introduction Anthracycline‐related cardiac remodeling precedes heart failure in childhood cancer survivors. The objectives of this study were to determine the relationships between patient‐specific factors, moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and cardiac remodeling.

Monotonicity of a relative Rényi entropy [PDF]
We show that a recent definition of relative Rényi entropy is monotone under completely positive, trace preserving maps. This proves a recent conjecture of Müller-Lennert et al. [“On quantum Rényi entropies: A new definition, some properties,” J. Math. Phys. 54, 122203 (2013); e-print arXiv:1306.3142v1; see also e-print arXiv:1306.3142].

ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...

Uhlmann’s Theorem for Relative Entropies
Uhlmann's theorem states that, for any two quantum states $ρ_{AB}$ and $σ_A$, there exists an extension $σ_{AB}$ of $σ_A$ such that the fidelity between $ρ_{AB}$ and $σ_{AB}$ equals the fidelity between their reduced states $ρ_A$ and $σ_A$. In this work, we generalize Uhlmann's theorem to $α$-Rényi relative entropies for $α\in [\frac{1}{2},\infty]$, a ...

Relative entropy as a measure of inhomogeneity in general relativity [PDF]
We introduce the notion of relative volume entropy for two spacetimes with preferred compact spacelike foliations. This is accomplished by applying the notion of Kullback-Leibler divergence to the volume elements induced on spacelike slices. The resulting quantity gives a lower bound on the number of bits which are necessary to describe one metric ...

ABSTRACT Background Germ cell tumors (GCTs) often arise in the ovaries and testes (extracranial) but can also develop in the brain (intracranial). We examined the relationship of individual, family, and community‐level socioeconomic status (SES) with stage of disease at diagnosis in a cohort of pediatric patients with GCT from Children's Oncology Group

ABSTRACT Background Pediatric cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in low‐and middle‐income countries. Cancer treatment may impair nutritional status, alter body composition, and exacerbate cancer‐related fatigue (CRF).

Crofton Risk and Relative Transactional Entropy
We develop a geometric approach to financial risk based on Crofton’s idea and the tools of the Radon transform. The trajectory of a financial instrument is defined with respect to a frame of reference (money, benchmark).

ABSTRACT Pediatric supportive care clinical trials often involve multiple clinically important outcomes, complicating trial interpretation. Hierarchical composite endpoints (HCEs) provide a framework to integrate key outcomes according to clinical importance.
