The Activation-Relaxation Technique : ART nouveau and kinetic ART [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The evolution of many systems is dominated by rare activated events that occur on timescale ranging from nanoseconds to the hour or more. For such systems, simulations must leave aside the full thermal description to focus specifically on mechanisms that

Doubly Nonnegative and Semidefinite Relaxations for the Densest k-Subgraph Problem

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
The densest k-subgraph (DkS) maximization problem is to find a set of k vertices with maximum total weight of edges in the subgraph induced by this set. This problem is in general NP-hard. In this paper, two relaxation methods for solving the DkS problem

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Efficient Static Compaction Techniques for Sequential Circuits Based on Reverse-Order Restoration and Test Relaxation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The paper present efficient reverse-order-restoration (ROR)-based static test compaction techniques for synchronous sequential circuits. Unlike previous ROR techniques that rely on vector-by-vector fault-simulation-based restoration of test subsequences,

Comparison of the effect of relaxation and biofeedback-assisted relaxation on stress and anxiety score in patients with mild hypertension [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه دانشگاه علوم پزشکی جهرم, 2011
Introduction:Anxiety and stress are known to increase blood pressure. Psychological methods and behavioral therapy are appropriate and low-cost methods in hypertensive patients.

Comparison of Relaxation Modulus Converted from Frequency- and Time-Dependent Viscoelastic Functions through Numerical Methods

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Due to the difficulty of obtaining relaxation modulus directly from experiments, many interconversion methods from other viscoelastic functions to relaxation modulus were developed in previous years.

Exact relaxation of complementary constraints for optimal bidding strategy for electric vehicle aggregators

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2022
This paper concentrates on the optimal bidding strategy of a plug‐in electric vehicle aggregator (PEVA) using indirect load control in the day‐ahead energy market, which is generally formulated as bilevel programming.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Voltage Relaxation Characterization Methods in Lithium-Ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yes
This study evaluated three approaches for characterizing voltage relaxation in lithium-ion batteries: voltage vs. time, the derivative of voltage vs. time, and the second derivative of voltage vs. time.
