Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Broadband Circularly Polarized Cross-Dipole Antenna With Multiple Modes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A broadband circularly polarized (CP) cross-dipole antenna with multiple modes is proposed. The antenna is composed of two pairs of crossed strip dipoles as driven elements, four square-slot patches, and four corner-truncated patches as parasitic ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

A Generative Adversarial Network-Based Intelligent Fault Diagnosis Method for Rotating Machinery Under Small Sample Size Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Rotating machinery plays a key role in mechanical equipment, and the fault diagnosis of rotating machinery is a popular research topic. To overcome the dependency on expert knowledge regarding conventional time-frequency analysis diagnosis methods ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Optimization of Spare Parts Varieties Based on Stochastic DEA Model

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Accurate inventory management starts with the scientific and rational classification of numerous varieties of spare parts. This paper presents a stochastic data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to address the problem of optimization of spares varieties ...

Tumor and germline testing with next generation sequencing in epithelial ovarian cancer: a prospective paired comparison using an 18‐gene panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Genetic testing in epithelial ovarian cancer includes both germline and tumor‐testing. This approach often duplicates resources. The current prospective study assessed the feasibility of tumor‐first multigene testing by comparing tumor tissue with germline testing of peripheral blood using an 18‐gene NGS panel in 106 patients.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Modeling the Capacitated Multi-Level Lot-Sizing Problem under Time-Varying Environments and a Fix-and-Optimize Solution Approach

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
In this study, we investigated the time-varying capacitated lot-sizing problem under a fast-changing production environment, where production factors such as the setup costs, inventory-holding costs, production capacities, or even material prices may be ...
