Design and analysis of switched reluctance motors

2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO), 2013
In this paper, the design and analysis of switched reluctance motors (SRM) are studied. SRMs gained more importance in recent years due to simple structural properties. Finite element method (FEM) is used for the analysis of SRM and the motor characteristics are investigated with simulation results.

Optimization of Reluctance Motor with Printed Rotor

2019 22nd International Conference on the Computation of Electromagnetic Fields (COMPUMAG), 2019
A novel way of optimizing a reluctance motor with rotor manufactured by 3D printing technology is presented. The optimization algorithms must take into account the tolerances of its production that are generally higher compared with classical processing, which requires a high level of robustness.

Identification Of Synchronous Reluctance Motor Parameters

Singapore International Conference on Intelligent Control and Instrumentation [Proceedings 1992], 2005
The detection of the neutral point voltage of three-phase synchronous reluctance motors is useful for obtaining information on the operating conditions of the motor and also on the Fourier coefficients of the air gap permeance. It is known that these parameters are crucial for the accurate evaluation of the motor’s main quantities.

Synchronous Reluctance and PM Assisted Reluctance Motors

2016
This chapter focuses on the key notions about analysis and design of synchronous reluctance and permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motors. The aim is to highlight not only the advantages of such machines but also some drawbacks of theirs, such as the low power factor and the torque ripple.

Advanced Motor Technologies: Reluctance Motors

1997
There are two large families of reluctance motor with distinct constructional and operational features: synchronous reluctance motors and switched reluctance motors. Synchronous reluctance motors employ a virtually standard polyphase stator having a relatively large number of teeth, slots and overlapping coils. As in polyphase synchronous motors proper

Comparison of vibration between an evaporative cooling switched reluctance motor and a conventional switched reluctance motor

2017 IEEE 58th International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering of Riga Technical University (RTUCON), 2017
Distinguishing with all the methods mitigating switched reluctance motors(SRMs)' vibration, this paper presents an effective damping method to weaken the vibration and noise propagation. Evaporative cooling stators can be considered as the damping method to the SRMs' vibration problem, as it reduces the radial electromagnetic forces in stators by ...
