Automated counting of fish in moving diver‐operated videos (DOV) for biodiversity assessments
Abstract Underwater video transects are crucial to assess marine biodiversity and biomass. Counting fish in these videos is labour‐ and time‐intensive and operator‐dependent. Automating this step would create non‐biased biodiversity data and decouple the data collection campaign from any field constraints.

Abstract The ichthyofauna of the Fiordland ecosystems of southern Aotearoa New Zealand was documented during four remotely operating vehicle (ROV) dives between 100 and 350 m depth. A total of 26 fish species were documented within two fiord basins.

Abstract The abundance of Canthidermis sufflamen has increased worldwide, including around the Canary Islands, due to global ocean warming. The reproductive behaviour of this species was studied within a marine‐protected area (MPA) and its adjacent areas off the island of El Hierro (Canary Islands).
