The Renal Clearance of Hemoglobin in the Dog [PDF]
Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1940 Simultaneous hemoglobin and creatinine renal clearance studies have been presented which indicate that hemoglobin is eliminated by the kidney at a rate which is 3 per cent of the creatinine clearance, above a plasma hemoglobin concentration of approximately 250 mg. per 100 cc. In dogs whose average glomerular filtration rate is 66 cc. per minute, about

Safety concerns associated with high-dose continuous infusion of cefepime among critically ill patients with mild renal impairment to augmented renal clearance at a level 1 trauma center: CEFTOX study [PDF]
Antimicrobial Agents and ChemotherapyHigh-dose continuous infusion of cefepime is frequently employed in ICU patients with a creatinine clearance above 60 mL/min. The CEFTOX study aimed to investigate whether this regimen could lead to cefepime overexposure and cefepime-induced ...

Is the GFR‐based scaling approach adequate for predicting pediatric renal clearance of drugs with passive tubular reabsorption? Insights from PBPK modeling [PDF]
CPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems PharmacologyEmpirical maturation models (e.g., Johnson and Rhodin models) for glomerular filtration rate (GFR) are commonly used as scaling factors for predicting pediatric renal clearance, but their predictive performance for drugs featured with tubular ...

Association of Noise Annoyance with Measured Renal Hemodynamic Changes
Kidney & Blood Pressure Research, 2021 Background: Chronic mental stress is recognized as a modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to demonstrate that noise annoyance-induced stress is associated with changes in renal hemodynamics.

Augmented renal clearance is not a risk factor for mortality in Enterobacteriaceae bloodstream infections treated with appropriate empiric antimicrobials. [PDF]
PLoS ONE, 2017 The main objective of the study was to assess whether augmented renal clearance was a risk factor for mortality in a cohort of patients with Enterobacteriaceae sepsis, severe sepsis, or septic shock that all received appropriate antimicrobial therapy ...

Renal Clearance of Polythiazide
Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1962 SummaryThe renal clearance of C14 labeled polythiazide, a new and highly potent diuretic agent, was studied in anesthetized dogs. The ratio for polythiazide was found to be considerably lower than for other benzthiadiazines. The low clearance of polythiazide appears to be determined by the high degree of drug binding by plasma proteins, and by ...
