Journal of Essential Oil Bearing Plants, 2007Abstract The essential oil of Renealmia alpinia occurring in the pre-Amazon region was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Thirty-five constituents were identified in the leaf oil of R. alpinia with the predominance of β-caryophyllene (22.9%), β-pinene (12.0%), spathulenol (10.0%), alloaromadendrene (8.3%), γ-cadinene (5.3%) and germacrene D (5.1%).
