The Error and Repair Catastrophes: A Two-Dimensional Phase Diagram in the Quasispecies Model
This paper develops a two gene, single fitness peak model for determining the equilibrium distribution of genotypes in a unicellular population which is capable of genetic damage repair.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Bulbar Urethra Accompanied by Lichen Sclerosus: A Case Report
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the bulbar urethra accompanied by lichen sclerosus (LS) is rarely reported. This study reports the case of a 56-year-old man with urethral squamous cell carcinoma (USCC) accompanied by a long history of genital LS.

Warranty Cost Analysis with an Alternating Geometric Process
In this study we model the warranty claims process and evaluate the warranty servicing costs under non-renewing and renewing free repair warranties. We assume that the repair time for rectifying the claims is non-zero and the repair cost is a function of

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

The aviation industry relies on continuous inspections to ensure infrastructure safety, particularly in confined spaces like aircraft fuel tanks, where human inspections are labor-intensive, risky, and expose workers to hazardous exposures.

An Explicit Construction of Systematic MDS Codes with Small Sub-packetization for All-Node Repair
An explicit construction of systematic MDS codes, called HashTag+ codes, with arbitrary sub-packetization level for all-node repair is proposed. It is shown that even for small sub-packetization levels, HashTag+ codes achieve the optimal MSR point for ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.
