Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Dynamics of substrate resource selection in network virtualization environment——an evolutionary game approach

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2012
The substrate network path selection problem of virtual network was modeled as an evolutionary game.In the process of evolutionary game, virtual networks adjusted the strategies through the iterated game. The replicator dynamics were leveraged equation to ...

Model of DNA Dynamics and Replication [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Physics, 2005
Before DNA replication can be initiated a definite number of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) containing pre-replication protein complexes (pre-RCs) must be assembled and bound to DNA like in a super-critical mass. A chemically driven dynamics of the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) type is derived, using the non-equilibrium equation for binding of pre-RCs to DNA and ...

Replicator Dynamics with Frequency Dependent Stage Games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We analyze evolutionary games with replicator dynamics that have frequency dependent stage games. In such an evolutionary game, the payoffs of a strategy at any point in time are functions of the strategy shares given by the players strategy choices at ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

How Moral Codes Evolve in a Trust Game

open access: yesGames, 2015
This paper analyzes the dynamic stability of moral codes in a two population trust game. Guided by a moral code, members of one population, the Trustors, are willing to punish members of the other population, the Trustees, who defect.
