Reporter genes have been widely used in plant molecular biology, typically to discern patterns of gene expression, but also as markers of transformed cells during stable transformation procedures. The ideal marker gene would be expected to display characteristics such as ease and cheapness of use, lack of toxicity, and robustness; and the most commonly ...

ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Визначення ліній Drosophіla melanogaster, репортерна система яких чутлива до низьких доз мутагену
Aim. There are many methods of assessment of mutagens, but the effects of low-dose mutagens have been overlooked. In this study we try to select lines of Drosophila melanogaster with high-sensitive to mutagen reporter gene. We used D. melanogaster lines

Overview of the reporter genes and reporter mouse models
AbstractReporter genes are widely applied in biotechnology and biomedical research owning to their easy observation and lack of toxicity. Taking advantage of the reporter genes in conjunction with imaging technologies, a large number of reporter mouse models have been generated. Reporter mouse models provide systems that enable the studies of live cell

The chicken gene nomenclature committee report [PDF]
Comparative genomics is an essential component of the post-genomic era. The chicken genome is the first avian genome to be sequenced and it will serve as a model for other avian species. Moreover, due to its unique evolutionary niche, the chicken genome can be used to understand evolution of functional elements and gene regulation in mammalian species.
