Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Self-charging metering and dispensing device for fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A self-metering and dispensing device for fluids obtained from a pressurized fluid supply is discussed. Tubing and valving means permit the introduction of fluid into and discharge from a closed cylindrical reservoir.

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Differential Growth Responses of Alternanthera philoxeroides as Affected by Submergence Depths

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Global climate change has resulted in an increase in intensity and frequency of flooding, plants living in lowlands, and shore areas have to confront submergence caused by flooding, submergence-tolerant plants usually respond by adopting either escape or

Characteristics of Cerebral Palsy in the Midwestern US

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common lifelong motor disability worldwide. Yet, data is limited on how CP manifests in the US. Our objective was to characterize and determine factors affecting functional outcomes in a large population of young people with CP in the Midwestern US.

Heat pipe with hot gas reservoir [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Heat pipe can reverse itself with gas reservoir acting as evaporator, leading to rapid recovery from liquid in reservoir. Single layer of fine-mesh screen is included inside reservoir to assure uniform liquid distribution over hottest parts of internal ...

The use of digital elevation model and GIS for geometric analysis of water reservoir to feed the hypothetical irrigation project west Makhoul in Salahuddin province

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2023
The reservoir under study is one of the basic components of the supposedly irrigation project, the geometric analysis of the reservoir was conducted, the geometric elements were extracted from the DEM, which are represented by the positive volume (the ...

Lung Microphysiological System Validates Novel Cell Therapy for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of primed mesenchymal stem cells (pMSCs) as an alternative treatment for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), based on a novel lung microphysiological system (MPS) to test the efficacy of pMSCs over the standard treatment, Dexamethasone.
