Quality of hybrid circuits after soldering with “no residue” flux

Microelectronics Journal, 1992
Abstract New “no residue” fluxes from different producers, which after soldering do not require cleaning, were evaluated. After soldering, ionic residues were determinated by the dynamic extraction method. Insulation resistance on a test circuit with small distances between conductors was measured after soldering and after 1000 h at 40°C, 96% RH with

Influence of system transients on the residual flux of an unloaded transformer

2011 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2011
Developments of smart grids and integration of renewable energy sources will increase the amount of switching operations of unloaded transformer systems. A random energization of an unloaded power transformer can cause inrush currents and related voltage disturbances.

An evaluation of the effect of ageing on the cleanability of solder flux residues

Soldering & Surface Mount Technology, 1999
The efficiency of cleaning of flux residues after various periods of ageing was assessed by measuring the ionic contamination removed in an Ionograph 500 SMD. The flux residues were removed from bare boards, and boards with through hole and surface mount components. The effect of different ageing temperature was also investigated.

Cleaning Flux Residues Under Low Component Gaps

Regional Events, 2011
ABSTRACT The distances between conductors, and the under clearance gaps from the board to the bottom of the components on printed circuit boards, are smaller due to miniaturization. Smaller spacing increases the probability that flux residues or surface contamination will be sufficient to bridge all or most of the under clearance gap ...

Cation Flux in Incubated Plant Residues and Its Effect on pH and Plant Residue Alkalinity

2011
Plant residues offer a viable alternative to the costly and non-readily available commercial lime in addressing the constraint of soil acidity among the rural smallholders. The liming potential of the residues, attributable to excess cations over inorganic anions, exists in either available or non-available forms.
