Fluoroquinolone, resistant genes, Escherichia coli, ciprofloxacin, quinolone resistance(qnr) gene
BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to determine caregivers’ nutrition knowledge and its influence on feeding practices and nutritional status on young children. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 120 caregiver-child pairs. A validated questionnaire was used to collect caregivers’ nutrition knowledge and feeding practices.

Virus resistance genes in plants
Plants defend themselves from virus infection by RNA silencing and resistance (R) gene-mediated mechanisms. Many dominant R genes encode nucleotide-binding site and leucine-rich repeat (NB-LRR)-containing proteins. NB-LRR proteins are also encoded by R genes against bacteria or fungi, suggesting a similar mechanism underlies defense systems to diverse ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

SolRgene: an online database to explore disease resistance genes in tuber-bearing Solanum species [PDF]
Background The cultivated potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an important food crop, but highly susceptible to many pathogens. The major threat to potato production is the Irish famine pathogen Phytophthora infestans, which causes the devastating late ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

CCoAOMT positively regulates the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in Zanthoxylum armatum
IntroductionThe rust disease caused by the fungus Coleosporium zanthoxyli in Zanthoxylum armatum leads to significant leaf damage. However, the genetic regulatory mechanisms underlying disease resistance in this plant remain unclear.MethodsThrough ...

Identification of molecular markers associated to new sources of resistance to the root-knot nematode in cotton : S02T04 [PDF]
The root-knot nematode (RKN) Meloidogyne incognita is a major constraint in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) production in numerous countries. Control of RKN has been hampered by the lack of options for crop rotation and even more, by the lack of high ...

Gene amplification and insecticide resistance
AbstractPesticide resistance in arthropods has been shown to evolve by two main mechanisms, the enhanced production of metabolic enzymes, which bind to and/or detoxify the pesticide, and mutation of the target protein, which makes it less sensitive to the pesticide.
