We construct explicit models of particle dark matter where the attractive force in the dark matter sector creates a narrow near-threshold resonance that qualitatively changes the energy dependence of the annihilation cross section. In these models, the resonant enhancement of the dark matter annihilation can easily source the excess of energetic ...

ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Observation of Bifurcations and Hysteresis in Nonlinear NbN Superconducting Microwave Resonators
In this paper we report some extraordinary nonlinear dynamics measured in the resonance curve of NbN superconducting stripline microwave resonators. Among the nonlinearities observed: aburpt bifurcations in the resonance response at relatively low input ...

Transit of asteroids across the 7/3 Kirkwood gap under the Yarkovsky effect
Many asteroids in the main belt are continuously pushed by Yarkovsky effect into regions of different mean motion resonances (MMRs) and then ejected out. They are considered as the principal source of near-Earth objects.

Entropic Stochastic Resonance [PDF]
We present a novel scheme for the appearance of Stochastic Resonance when the dynamics of a Brownian particle takes place in a confined medium. The presence of uneven boundaries, giving rise to an entropic contribution to the potential, may upon ...

AbstractWe investigate a novel reheating scenario proceeding through s-channel inflaton annihilation, mediated by a massive scalar. If the inflatonϕoscillates around the minimum of a monomial potential ∝ϕn, we reveal the emergence of resonance phenomena originating from the dynamic evolution of the inflaton mass forn>2.

Summary: The effect of a high-frequency force on the response of a bistable system to a low-frequency signal is considered for both the overdamped and weakly damped cases. It is shown that the response can be optimized by an appropriate choice of vibration amplitude.

ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

The cardiac cavity of an isolated rat heart was filled with a Krebs-Henseleit (KH) solution, and the heart was hung in a high-pressure chamber. After the high-pressure chamber had been filled with a mixed gas (PCO = 400 hPa, PCO 2 = 100 hPa, PO 2 = 900 ...

Anomalous resonance phenomena of solitary waves with internal modes [PDF]
We investigate the non-parametric, pure ac driven dynamics of nonlinear Klein-Gordon solitary waves having an internal mode of frequency $\Omega_i$. We show that the strongest resonance arises when the driving frequency $\delta=\Omega_i/2$, whereas when $
