Bronchial granulocytes in the development of epithelial destruction and oxidative lipid modification in patients with bronchial asthma with cold and osmotic airway hyperresponsiveness

open access: yesСибирский научный медицинский журнал, 2021
Free radical damage to the respiratory tract in patients with asthma leads to the destruction of the bronchial parenchyma and the generation of signaling molecules of inflammation by parenchymal cells.

Rate-limiting Step Preceding Cytochrome c Release in Cells Primed for Fas-mediated Apoptosis Revealed by Analysis of Cellular Mosaicism of Respiratory Changes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In the present work, Jurkat cells undergoing anti-Fas antibody (anti-Fas)-triggered apoptosis exhibited in increasing proportion a massive release of cytochrome c from mitochondria, as revealed by double-labeling confocal immunofluorescence microscopy ...

Decomposition of coarse woody debris in a long-term litter manipulation experiment: A focus on nutrient availability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The majority of above-ground carbon in tropical forests is stored in wood, which is returned to the atmosphere during decomposition of coarse woody debris.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Interleukin-4 and interferon gamma in bronchial remodeling in asthma patients with cold airway hyperresponsiveness

open access: yesБюллетень сибирской медицины
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interferon gamma (IFNγ) are key participants in the polarization of the immune response toward Th1 or Th2 types in bronchial asthma.

Destruction of the bronchial epithelium in patients with severe asthma according to different patterns of inflammation and cold airway hyperresponsiveness [PDF]

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2019
The aim of the research was to study the state of the bronchial mucosa epi-thelium in relation to the severity of clinical manifestations in severe uncon-trolled asthma depending on the pattern of inflammation and the presence of cold airway ...

Extra-matrix Mg\u3csup\u3e2+\u3c/sup\u3e Limits Ca\u3csup\u3e2+\u3c/sup\u3e Uptake and Modulates Ca\u3csup\u3e2+\u3c/sup\u3e Uptake-independent Respiration and Redox State in Cardiac Isolated Mitochondria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Cardiac mitochondrial matrix (m) free Ca2+ ([Ca2+]m) increases primarily by Ca2+ uptake through the Ca2+ uniporter (CU). Ca2+ uptake via the CU is attenuated by extra-matrix (e) Mg2+ ([Mg2+]e).

Factors controlling spatio-temporal variation in carbon dioxide efflux from surface litter, roots, and soil organic matter at four rain forest sites in the eastern Amazon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
[1] This study explored biotic and abiotic causes for spatio-temporal variation in soil respiration from surface litter, roots, and soil organic matter over one year at four rain forest sites with different vegetation structures and soil types in the ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Distinguish active tuberculosis with an immune-related signature and molecule subtypes: a multi-cohort analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports
Background: Distinguishing latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) from active tuberculosis (ATB) is very important. This study aims to analyze cases from multiple cohorts and get the signature that can distinguish LTBI from ATB.
