Machine learning for identifying liver and pancreas cancers through comprehensive serum glycopeptide spectra analysis: a case‐control study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel AI‐based diagnostic approach—comprehensive serum glycopeptide spectra analysis (CSGSA)—that integrates tumor markers and enriched glycopeptides from serum. Using a neural network model, this method accurately distinguishes liver and pancreatic cancers from healthy individuals.

MicroRNA‐7‐5p induces cell growth inhibition, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis by targeting PAK2 in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2019
MicroRNAs (miR) are known to be critical regulators in tumor progression. miR‐7‐5p was reported to be involved in several cancers, including glioblastoma, cervical cancer, and melanoma, but its prognostic value and biological function in non‐small‐cell ...

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Antibiotics for treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a network meta-analysis

open access: yesBMC Pulmonary Medicine, 2017
Background Acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) is the most common reason for the hospitalization and death of pulmonary patients. The use of antibiotics as adjuvant therapy for AECOPD, however, is still a matter of debate.

Comparison of boreal ecosystem model sensitivity to variability in climate and forest site parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Ecosystem models are useful tools for evaluating environmental controls on carbon and water cycles under past or future conditions. In this paper we compare annual carbon and water fluxes from nine boreal spruce forest ecosystem models in a series of ...
