Respiratory muscles training with isocapnic hyperpnoea (HY) method improves ventilatory parameters and exercise capacity.

open access: yes, 2009
Introduction: Recent evidences suggest that respiratory muscles training improves the exercise capacity. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of respiratory muscles training with HY (Spirotiger®) on respiratory parameters and exercise capacity.

Myosin phenotype and bioenergetic characteristics of rat respiratory muscles

open access: yes, 1997
Myosin phenotype and bioenergetic characteristics of rat respiratory muscles. Med. Sci. Sports Exerc., Vol. 29, No. 12, pp. 1573-1579, 1997. These experiments examined the myosin phenotype and bioenergetic enzyme activities in rat respiratory muscles ...

Respiratory performance in Duchenne muscular dystrophy: Clinical manifestations and lessons from animal models

open access: yesExperimental Physiology
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a fatal genetic neuromuscular disease. Lack of dystrophin in skeletal muscles leads to intrinsic weakness, injury, subsequent degeneration and fibrosis, decreasing contractile function.

Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

Neuromuscular and neuromechanical assessments of respiratory performance in the mdx mouse model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy across the natural history of disease

open access: yesExperimental Physiology
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe life‐limiting X‐linked neuromuscular disorder characterised by progressive skeletal muscle degeneration and respiratory failure. The mdx mouse, lacking dystrophin, is the most widely used preclinical model of

Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

Respiratory Muscles and Muscle Strengthening.

open access: yesRigakuryoho Kagaku, 2003
