The Optimization of the Electrocoagulation of Palm Oil Mill Effluent with a Box-Behnken Design

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2019
Unmanageable industrial wastewater will have an impact on the environment. One of the alternative wastewater treatment technologies is electrocoagulation. This study investigates the effects of voltage, time, and NaCl concentrations on wastewater through

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Efficient optoelectronic de-embedding for VCSEL intrinsic response extraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this present work, we propose a new method to remove the parasitics contribution to the VCSEL chip response,in order to obtain the intrinsic transmission behavior. It has been observed that the S11 reflection coefficient of the chip is only due to the

High-resolution hot-film measurement of surface heat flux to an impinging jet

open access: yes, 2011
To investigate the complex coupling between surface heat transfer and local fluid velocity in convective heat transfer, advanced techniques are required to measure the surface heat flux at high spatial and temporal resolution.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Implementation of the Surface Response to Excitation Method for Pipes

open access: yes
The Surface response to excitation (SuRE) method was developed to detect the defects and loading condition changes on plates without using the impedance analyzer. The SuRE method excites the surface with a piezoelectric exciter. Generally, sweep sine wave is continuously applied and surface waves are monitored with (a) piezoelectric element(s) or ...

Method for rating power cables buried in surface troughs

open access: yes, 1999
An alternative method is detailed by which the ambient temperature parameter as applied to the calculation of ratings of cables buried in surface trough installations can be determined.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Application of Response Surface Method for Analyzing Pavement Performance

open access: yes, 2021
Hot mix asphalt (HMA) is a common material that has been largely used in the road construction industries. The main constituents of HMA are asphalt binder, mineral aggregate, and filler. The asphalt binder bounds aggregate and filler particles together and also waterproofs the mixture.
