The Study on Dual Response Surface Method in MDO
Third International Conference on Natural Computation (ICNC 2007), 2007Complex products are integrated by many subsystems through complex couplings. Most subsystems come from many different disciplines. In order to get the best solution, multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) is developed to improve the performance of complex products.

Application of the response surface method
2007The response surface method can be applied to numerous fields of knowledge. In general, this method consists in approximation an unknown function by known function chosen appropriately. It can be successively utilised in reliability measures computations when the failure criterion does not depend on random variables explicitly.

A response surface method for stochastic dynamic analysis
Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2014Abstract A Response Surface (RS) strategy is presented for the evaluation of the response statistics of dynamic systems subjected to stochastic excitation. The proposed approach adopts a strategy based on the High Dimensional Model Representation (HDMR), which gives a Gaussian Model (GM) of the response.

ReSeMBleD-Methods for Response Surface Model Behavioral Description
2018 15th International Conference on Synthesis, Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Methods and Applications to Circuit Design (SMACD), 2018In this paper, a method for the generation of Response Surface Models for behavioral modeling is presented. To enable and automate this method, a MATLAB application supporting the complete modeling process has been developed. This includes initial model selection and validation, sensitivity analysis, automated simulation of sample and test points as ...

Slope reliability and response surface method
International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1985A method to analyze reliability of soil slopes using the response surface method is described. The soil slope is modelled and analyzed by a finite element code as in prevalent deterministic studies. The simulation which is usually expensive, is repeated a limited number of times to give point estimates of the response corresponding to uncertainties in ...

A Taxonomy of Global Optimization Methods Based on Response Surfaces
Journal of Global Optimization, 2001The author presents a taxonomy of the various approaches for using response surfaces for global optimization. A distinction is made according as whether these approaches are non-interpolating or interpolating. The author demonstrates the unreliability of approaches using non-interpolating surfaces by showing that the usual methods like fitting quadric ...

Response surface methods (RSM) are primarily relevant when the decision-maker desires (1) to create a relatively accurate prediction of engineered system input-output relationships and (2) to “tune” or optimize thoroughly of the system being designed.

Double response surface method of reliability analysis for mechanism
2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM), 2015A new method for analyzing the reliability of mechanism is proposed. The proposed method suggests the use of two response surface functions to evaluate the reliability probability. Structural reliability can be calculated through the analysis of the maximum stress and the maximum deformation of crank-rocker mechanism to establish its limit states ...

A Piecewise Response Surface Method for Simulating MEMS with Uncertain Parameters
2004 International Conference on MEMS, NANO and Smart Systems (ICMENS'04), 2004This paper addresses the simulation and the modeling of MEMS with uncertain parameters. It focuses on an original technique derived from the piecewise perturbation method (PPM), called the piecewise response surface (PRS) method. This approach is described from a theoretical point of view.
