Using Eye Lens Stable Isotopes to Identify the Rearing Origin of Fall Age‐0 Walleye (Sander vitreus)

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Isotope values in fish eye lenses may be useful in differentiating rearing origins. We compared eye lens isotopic values of fall fingerling age‐0 walleye (Sander vitreus) reared in a hatchery pond, a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS), and a natural lake. Using 10 fish per rearing source, we delaminated layers from one eye lens per fish to

DYNAMIQUE TEMPORELLE DE LA CONTRIBUTION DU REPEUPLEMENT EN STADES PRÉCOCES DE TRUITE (SALMO TRUTTA L.) DANS LA POPULATION EN PLACE ET DANS LA PÊCHE SUR LE DOUBS FRANCO-SUISSE.

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 2002

A Study of the Proper Amount of Work-in-Process Inventory for Multipurpose Intermediate Products

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2012
It is difficult to calculate the amount of inventory of intermediate products in a material processing factory which has complex multiple processes. If the amount is too great, inventory assets accumulate. On the other hand, if it is too small, tardiness

Disentangling the Drivers of a Piscivorous Intra‐Annual Cohort and the Contributions of Three Cohorts to Early‐Year Class Strength in Pikeperch (Sander lucioperca)

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) as a model species, we investigated the factors influencing fluctuations in the abundance of piscivorous intra‐annual cohorts and assessed the role of three distinct cohorts: extremely small (ES), ordinary (or mid‐sized) fingerlings, and piscivorous in shaping year‐class strength.

A Delivery Approach Modeling for Urban Freight Restocking [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Architecture, 2012
This paper proposes a modeling system developed in order to analyze the urban freight transport and logistics within urban and metropolitan areas. A review of models developed to simulate this segment of mobility is also reported. The review analysis highlights the limits of models for the ex-ante assessment of city logistics measures.

Missed opportunities to prevent HIV acquisition with pre‐exposure prophylaxis: A mixed methods study of people with recently acquired HIV in the United Kingdom

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives To explore missed opportunities for PrEP use among people with recently acquired HIV in the United Kingdom. Methods Data were derived from CASCADE, an international, longitudinal, mixed‐methods study of adults (≥16 years) with recently acquired HIV (≤12 months).

Distinct matrilines in the panmictic population of the European eel Anguilla anguilla?

open access: yesAquatic Living Resources, 2017
Determining the genetic population structure and intraspecific evolution of species is important for efficient management. Here we investigated 394 sequences of the mtDNA cyt b of the critically endangered European eel, Anguilla anguilla.

Acclimatization length and post‐release spatial cohesion in translocated Griffon Vultures (Gyps fulvus)

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Translocations are often used in the conservation of large raptors, including Old World vultures. Different release methods are usually assessed by comparing the movement patterns and survival of released individuals. However, these approaches fail to capture the gregarious behaviour of many vulture species.

A fractal pattern of hierarchical genetic population structure in mixed stocks across fish segregated by dams revealed by genomic resources for curimba Prochilodus lineatus

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Genomic resources, new microsatellite markers and a novel observation of a fractal pattern in the genetic population structure are presented for curimba, Prochilodus lineatus, a freshwater migratory model species of South America. Our main goals were to investigate the presence of mixed fish stocks and the effects of damming‐induced ...

Wild rabbit restocking: Suitable acclimation conditions foster adaptive behaviour and improve survival of captive reared rabbits

open access: yesWorld Rabbit Science, 2017
Wild rabbit is a very important species in the Mediterranean region. Its relevance is both ecological, being a keystone species —prey for several predators— and economic, as it is the most important and the most managed small game species among mammals ...
