A new geodatabase of fuel treatments across federal lands in the USA

open access: yesScientific Data
Catastrophic wildfires threaten landscapes across the United States, and fuel treatments are key to mitigating this risk. Yet, information regarding when, where, and what types of treatments have occurred is scattered across multiple systems of record ...

Lipidome analysis of milk composition in humans, monkeys, bovids, and pigs

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2020
Background Lipids contained in milk are an essential source of energy and structural materials for a growing neonate. Furthermore, lipids’ long-chain unsaturated fatty acid residues can directly participate in neonatal tissue formation.

Revealing of Intracellular Antioxidants in Dendrobium nobile by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesMetabolites, 2023
The medicinal plant Dendrobium nobile is an important natural antioxidant resource. To reveal the antioxidants of D. nobile, high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) was employed for metabolic analysis.

Omni-Kernel Network for Image Restoration

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence
Image restoration aims to reconstruct a high-quality image from a degraded low-quality observation. Recently, Transformer models have achieved promising performance on image restoration tasks due to their powerful ability to model long-range dependencies.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Alpine peatland degradation enhances soil nitrogen losses and alters plant nitrogen uptake strategies: evidence from nitrogen isotopes

open access: yesChemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture
Background Nitrogen plays a critical role in sustaining ecosystem functions in peatlands; however, the degradation of approximately 12% of global peatlands substantially alters nitrogen cycling.

Transcriptomics reveals the molecular processes of light-induced rapid darkening of the non-obligate cave dweller Oreolalax rhodostigmatus (Megophryidae, Anura) and their genetic basis of pigmentation strategy

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2018
Background Vertebrates use different pigmentation strategies to adapt to various environments. A large amount of research has been done on disclosing the mechanisms of pigmentation strategies in vertebrates either under light, or, living in constant ...
