Hepatic Enzyme Abnormalities and Their Association With Hematological Parameters in Sickle Cell Disease: A Case‐Control Study in Cameroon

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims The polymerization of deoxygenated hemoglobin S, resulting from a genetic mutation in sickle cell disease (SCD), leads to damage in multiple organs, including renal, cardiopulmonary, and cerebrovascular systems. The liver is also commonly affected, resulting in “sickle cell liver disease,” which may lead to progressive ...

In Silico Design and Computational Characterization of Novel Chimeric Multiepitope Antigens for Mpox Serosurveillance: An Immunoinformatics Approach

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims The Monkeypox (Mpox) virus is a zoonotic Orthopoxvirus with a global outbreak that began in 2022, with more than 132,000 confirmed cases and 1500 deaths across over 128 countries. The pandemic preparedness pipeline emphasizes the importance of diagnostic surveillance of pathogens in at‐risk populations to monitor ...

Diagnosis of Acute Hemolytic Transfusion Reaction Caused by Cold Reactive Anti‐P1 Antibody: A Case Report

open access: yesiLABMED, Volume 4, Issue 2, Page 108-112, June 2026.
A 65‐year‐old patient developed acute hemolytic transfusion reaction (AHTR) after receiving P1‐positive red blood cells. The causative anti‐P1 antibody was detectable only at 4°C, evading routine 37°C pre‐transfusion screening. This case highlights that in patients with a repeated transfusion history, dual‐temperature serological testing (37°C and 4°C)

Variation in Chronic Automated Red Cell Exchange Practices for Sickle Cell Disease: Insights Into Isovolemic Hemodilution Use

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Apheresis, Volume 41, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Prior surveys of chronic automated red blood cell exchange (RCE) for patients with sickle cell disease (SCD) have identified considerable procedural variability, especially with the use of isovolemic hemodilution red blood cell exchange (IHD‐RCE).
