Superficial Pustular Folliculitis of the Face and Neck—A Non‐Infectious Eruption Responding to Topical Steroids

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Twenty‐seven young patients, mostly females, presenting with monomorphous, discrete, tiny, superficial follicular pustules on the face (44.4%), the face and neck (51.8%) and the neck (3.7%). The eruption was itchy in 44.4%, recurrent in 81% of cases and responded well to topical corticosteroids. Histopathologic findings of 3 cases revealed infundibular

Deletion of NFIA Leads to Activation of S100A7 and Inflammatory Response‐Induced Apoptosis of Keratinocytes in Oral Lichen Planus Progression

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT S100 calcium‐binding protein A7 (S100A7) has been implicated in psoriasis and other inflammatory diseases. However, the function of S100A7 in oral lichen planus (OLP), a chronic inflammatory disease, remains unclear. OLP was induced in mice by transplanting human OLP lesions into the backs of thymus‐free mice, and an in vitro cell model was ...

Retinoids and Phototherapy for Psoriasis

open access: yesThe Journal of Rheumatology Supplement, 2009
Retinoids are the most widely used agents for systemic treatment of psoriasis; as structural and functional analogs of vitamin A, they are involved in the regulation of several biologic functions. Acitretin is the oral retinoid currently used, alone or in combination with other treatments, for plaque type, erythrodermic, and pustular psoriasis.

Recent Developments in the Optical Control of Adrenergic Signaling

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Adrenoceptors (ARs) play a vital role in various physiological processes and are key therapeutic targets. The advent of optical control techniques, including optogenetics and photopharmacology, offers the potential to modulate AR signaling with precise temporal and spatial resolution. In this review, we summarize the latest advancements in the

Loss of FGF-dependent mesoderm identity and rise of endogenous retinoid signalling determine cessation of body axis elongation.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2012
The endogenous mechanism that determines vertebrate body length is unknown but must involve loss of chordo-neural-hinge (CNH)/axial stem cells and mesoderm progenitors in the tailbud. In early embryos, Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) maintains a cell pool

A Rapid Assessment Approach for Skin Stratum‐Targeted Drug Delivery Systems Using Mass Spectrometry Imaging and Spatial Clustering

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel method for rapidly evaluating dermal drug delivery systems (DDSs). Using mass spectrometry imaging and automated data analysis, it visualizes drug distribution within skin layers in under 10 min. Tested with three nanoscale DDSs for antifungal terbinafine, the approach reveals key differences in drug permeation depth and ...
