GC cells enhance glutamine accumulation by upregulating SLC1A5 expression. This upregulation not only boosts GC cell proliferation, but also outcompetes CD8+ T cells for glutamine and suppresses their antitumor immunity. Mechanistically, METTL7A deficiency in GC induces SLC1A5 overexpression via an m6A‐dependent pathway and N‐glycosylation ...

Mechanism of pH-induced Release of Retinol from Retinol-Binding Protein [PDF]
A hypothesis is proposed explaining the mechanism of pH-induced release of retinol from retinol-binding protein (RBP). A number of conservative positively charged side chains located on the retinol-binding face of the RBP molecule are involved in salt ...

Repurposing a Small Molecule Plant Hormone as a Tunable ON‐Switch for CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy
By engineering a receptor system integrating the plant auxin receptor AFB1 with its co‐receptor IAA7, we enable ligand‐dependent interactions triggered by the plant hormone auxins. This design allows rapid, reversible, and dose‐dependent T cell activation, resulting in potent cytotoxicity against B‐cell lymphoma in vitro and in vivo.

ABSTRACT Background Preoperative malnutrition and systemic inflammation are established determinants of adverse outcomes in colorectal cancer (CRC). Transthyretin (TTR), a rapid‐turnover hepatic protein, reflects both nutritional and inflammatory status; however, its clinical utility may be influenced by age‐ and sex‐related variability.

Genetic influences on circulating retinol and its relationship to human health
Retinol is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays an essential role in many biological processes throughout the human lifespan. Here, we perform the largest genome-wide association study (GWAS) of retinol to date in up to 22,274 participants. We identify eight

Plasma kinetics of vitamin A in humans after a single oral dose of [8,9,19-13C]retinyl palmitate
The kinetics of vitamin A and its major metabolites were investigated in humans. Eleven healthy male subjects ingested 105 mumol (100,000 IU) of [8,9,19-13C]retinyl palmitate in an oily solution.

Comparison of the Effects of Supplemental Red Palm Oil and Sunflower oil on Maternal Vitamin A Status. [PDF]
Conflicting results have been reported on the ability of dietary carotenoids to improve vitamin A status in lactating women. Red palm oil is one of the richest dietary sources of beta-carotene.

Retinol Uptake by Isolated Retinol Pigment Epithelium Plasma Membranes
The uptake of retinol has been investigated by incubating suspensions of isolated bovine retinal pigment epithelium plasma membranes in the presence of [3H]retinol-retinol-binding protein complex. After SDS gel electrophoresis of the labelled membranes, [
