Pt‐TiO2 mesoporous nanosystem co‐delivering phlorezin enables synergistic sonodynamic‐chemoimmunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma via directly targeting DDX5 and metabolic reprogramming modulation

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), ranking as the third leading cause of cancer‐related mortality globally, continues to pose significant therapeutic challenges. Here, we developed an innovative nanosystem, Phl@PT, based on Pt‐TiO2 nanoparticles for the co‐delivery of Phlorezin, presenting a novel approach for HCC treatment through sonodynamic ...

Interaction between retinol intake and ISX rs5755368 polymorphism in colorectal cancer risk: a case–control study in a Korean population

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
This study aimed to examine whether the ISX rs5755368 genotypes are associated with the effect of dietary retinol consumption on CRC risk. We recruited 923 CRC patients and 1846 controls to identify the association between dietary retinol and CRC risk ...

Oxidation of Allylic Alcohols by Manganese Oxides: Elucidating the Influences of MnOx Structure and Mn Oxidation State on Reactivity

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Manganese oxides (MnOX) of different structures and with different Mn oxidation states exhibit significant variation in their reactivity toward the oxidation of allylic alcohols. Using two allylic alcohol model substrates, we demonstrate the relationship between activity and MnOX structure, Mn4+ content and incorporated secondary cations.

Níveis plasmáticos de vitamina A em crianças carentes com pneumonia na fase aguda e após recuperação Plasma vitamin A levels in deprived children with pneumonia during the acute phase and after recovery

Retinol and retinol-binding protein stabilize transthyretin via formation of retinol transport complex.

open access: yes, 2010
Transthyretin (TTR) is a plasma hormone carrier protein associated with hereditary and senile forms of systemic amyloid disease, wherein slow tetramer disassembly is thought to be an obligatory step. Plasma transport of retinol is carried out exclusively

Clinical Significance of Acute Kidney Injury in Idiosyncratic Drug‐Induced Liver Injury: A Multicentric Propensity Scores Matched Study

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Clinical significance of acute kidney injury in idiosyncratic drug‐induced liver injury: a multicentric propensity scores matched study. Evidence about the role of acute kidney injury (AKI) in idiosyncratic drug‐induced liver injury (DILI) is still scarce.

A proteomic investigation of forebrain regeneration in the leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius)

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Our investigation reveals ontogenetic, injury‐ and regeneration‐associated proteomic changes in the leopard gecko forebrain. Abstract Background The ability to replace lost or damaged neurons following an injury is termed reactive neurogenesis. Although reactive neurogenesis has been reported in several lizard species, the molecular mechanisms ...

A phenomap of TTR amyloidosis to aid diagnostic screening

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1113-1118, April 2025.
Abstract Cardiac amyloidosis due to transthyretin (ATTR) remains an underdiagnosed cause of cardiomyopathy. As awareness of the disease grows and referrals for ATTR increase, clinicians are likely to encounter more atypical forms of the condition in clinical practice.

Cellular retinol-binding protein (type two) is abundant in human small intestine.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1987
Human small intestine was found to contain a retinol-binding protein similar to the gut-specific cellular retinol-binding protein, type two [CRBP (II)], described in the rat.
