Replication fork reversal triggers fork degradation in BRCA2-defective cells
Besides its role in homologous recombination, the tumor suppressor BRCA2 protects stalled replication forks from nucleolytic degradation. Defective fork stability contributes to chemotherapeutic sensitivity of BRCA2-defective tumors by yet-elusive ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Lipolysis sensation by white fat afferent nerves triggers brown fat thermogenesis
Objective: Metabolic challenges, such as a cold environment, stimulate sympathetic neural efferent activity to white adipose tissue (WAT) to drive lipolysis, thereby increasing the availability of free fatty acids as one source of fuel for brown adipose ...

The $\aleph$-Calculus: A declarative model of reversible programming [PDF]
A novel model of reversible computing, the $\aleph$-calculus, is introduced. It is declarative, reversible-Turing complete, and has a local term-rewriting semantics. Unlike previously demonstrated reversible term-rewriting systems, it does not require the accumulation of history data.

Spontaneous symmetry breaking in a spin-orbit coupled $f=2$ spinor condensate
We study the ground-state density profile of a spin-orbit coupled $f=2$ spinor condensate in a quasi-one-dimensional trap. The Hamiltonian of the system is invariant under time reversal but not under parity.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six
